Your Blog Should Be Yellow

You're a cheerful, upbeat blogger who tends to make everyone laugh.

You are a great storyteller, and the first to post the latest funny link.

You're also friendly and welcoming to everyone who comments on your blog.

I found a lot of this to be shockingly close.
Oh wow.

Haven't blogged in a while.

I think I'm gonna skip on the Rock Band Live Tour.
Maybe I'll update about it later.
Who knows.

It's Almost Halloween

My favorite band released this yesterday and it has been stuck in my head the whole time.
It's a pretty sweet tune.

I am not one of their friends, as far as I know, but I'm "still wondering what [i'm] gonna be."

So I think I've narrowed it down to two choices.

I either want to be:

A. Audrey Kitching

or

B. Alice

I'm actually leaning more towards Audrey.

In tears.

I saw this commercial and started laughing hysterically.
When your that age you have no shame. You do what you want, when you want to.
There are some people who really need to go back to that time. Yeah, a little discretion is a good thing but always being afraid to be yourself isn't.
If you like wearing flashy clothes and bright colors, then I think you should do it.
If some people don't like you for it, I'm sure there are some that will.
No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

[Sorry I haven't blogged in a while.]

I'm Bringing Sassy Back (And you can't stop me!)

October Ninth was a fun night, any way you slice it.
I didn't get my picture with Vicky-T.
I didn't even get to meet Gabe or Nate.

AND I STILL HAD A BLAST.

It started off slow.
I had to wait until my mom was willing to let me walk to the venue.
Which seemed like hours,
upon hours,
upon hours,
upon hours,
upon hours,
upon hours,
upon hours,
upon hours...

When in truth, it was probably about two to three hours of waiting.

So, this time, I really wanted to get to the venue early so that I could meet the band as they were getting of the bus.
(What band, you ask? Why, COBRA STARSHIP, of course!)

I was alone for about an hour and a half walking around, I definitely saw someone's tour bus getting unloaded. Now that I think back, it was probably Forever the Sickest Kids' bus.

I have definitely honed in on my band senses, though.
A group of five people started walking around from the back.
BAND SENSES TINGLING! BAND SENSES TINGLING!
I didn't even need to look in their back pockets,
but as soon as I did,
there were the backstage passes to verfify.

No one was bothering them because they were the opening, opening, opening act.

But I knew.

I watched in awe as they entered the front doors,
I think one of them noticed and gave a smug smile.

So, after that, I started circling the venue.
It's a small one, so it wasn't hard to do AT ALL.

I felt a little weird, kind of stalkerish,
so I called up my friend who would be there in an hour
and started talking to her.

I was walking around for the second time
when I see a haircut
a haircut I recognized.
There was a distance, forgive me.
That's how I recognized her.

So, I had figured everyone was in the venue already,
and hadn't expected that at all,
so I did what any normal person would do.
I think.
I weakly said "Vicky-T?!"

She said "Hi."

"Hi."

That was pretty much the extent of our conversation.
I opened my mouth to ask if I could get a picture with her
but she said, "I'll be out later, but I gotta go."

Later, two of my other friends showed up.
This was about ten minutes after meeting Vicky-T.
They missed out! Haha.

So we hung around by the back door for about an hour
after heading to the Sanrio(yes, Sanrio) store across the street.
I hadn't eaten pretty much all day, so I picked up a box of Pocky.
As we were watching people get ready for the show and eating my Pocky, I had a brilliant idea.
Offer anyone who goes in or comes out of backstage some Pocky!

And the strangest thing was most people didn't know what Pocky was.

There were some dude roadies who accepted the Pocky.
Most just kind of steered clear of it.
There were a couple of girl groupies/roadies(I actually think that they were, in fact, roadies) who's eyes bugged out because apparently they love Pocky.

And then, some dudes from a band.
(I only knew that the band was Sing It Loud, because it was written all over all their gear and amps.)
I offered them Pocky.
The shorter one said, "No thanks."
The taller one said, "Sure, I'll try it."
He started to walk away as he tried it.
But started walking back.
"Hey this is really good! Can I have another one."

Of course, I'm the nice person, and said "Sure!"

By the way, in case anyone was wondering, I later found out this was Pat Brown of Sing It Loud.

We waited by the backstage some more and saw a dude with F.U.N.K.Y. hair.
It was cool, funky, though.

I turned to my friend and asked her if that was anyone in the show.
(Did I not mention my band senses?)
Yep, it was Caleb from Forever the Sickest Kids just strolling around.
I kept trying to convince my friend to say something,
and she kept trying to convince me to say something,
and I would have said something to,
had I heard what she was saying his name was correctly.

I thought she was saying "Kel."

He walked away, oh dear.

We went back to our post by the backstage, and mid text I hear my friend scream/whisper "RYLAND" in my ear.
I wait until I finish my text and look up.
"Oh," is all I can say when I see that standing right there, is indeed, Ryland.
We got our pictures,
we made cracks about how short I am/tall he is.
And he went on his merry way.

My friends were getting really antsy and wanted to line up before the lines got to long,
I just wanted to chill backstage some more.
But we lined up.
Eventually, the friend that I had been talking on the phone with when Vicky-T walked by met up with us.
Caleb continued to walk around everywhere.

Me and my friend who I had been with for about an hour decided to follow him and ask for a picture.
We were about two blocks away from the original line-up place(we had people saving our spots in line) when he finally turned around and asked who called his name.

I dunno if anyone did, but that's when we finally got our pictures with him.

We were gonna start walking back, but Ryland passes us again.
(I'm guessing he was on his way back to the venue, too.)
Someone asked him for a high five, and I love high fives,
so I asked for one, too.

We walked back to our spot in line, and wait.
We then see a crowd of people.
I checked it out, but I didn't recognize the person.
Apparently, it was Jonathan from Forever the Sickest Kids.
Again, we got our picture. (We're good at that! Haha.)

The concert was amazing.
I just couldn't handle the crowd.
So I left it, and hung around by myself during most of the Hit the Lights set.
Eventually, Sing it Loud came out to hang with everyone.
My friend finally met me, who was all by my lonesome,
and we danced with Nate Flynn(Sing it Loud) during the Forever the Sickest Kids set.
That was funnnn.

Kyle from Forever the Sickest Kids walked by me, right before they're set.
(So I'm a little out of order...)
And then Vicky-T walked out of the backstage door right after that.

I knew every Cobra Starship song,
except the first one.
Tonight, I am the drug you can't deny. Tonight, G-A-B-E gonna get you high.
I didn't know it, but I got the hang of it and began to sign along.
The Church of Hot Addiction. I'm such a bad fan.

I listened to the lyrics at first and though how irresponsible Gabe was.
I thought of the lyrics later and realized how right he was.

I think after this concert,
besides the Panic at the Disco concert,
I was the most pumped I've ever been.

I wasn't nervous,
Just pumped.

After the concert had ended,
we waited by the backstage door
until my friends' dad had to pick us up.
We waited just long enough so that we could meet Alex Suarez.

We asked for pictures.
I complemented his fangs necklace. (Purple vampire fangs)
He said a fan made it. (Whoever that fan was, was brilliant.)

When my friend was getting her picture taken,
Alex said, "Let's make this like a prom photo and turn it to the side!"
It was pretty funny if you ask me.

Ryland walked out of backstage with his hood up,
trying to be all incognito.
My friend noticed it and pointed it out.
He was beyond view by the time I shouted, "You're so sexy!"
Apparently, he turned around and wondered where that came from.
A girl sitting across the way had a better view of him and started cracking up.
Wow, I really was high off of Gabe's amazingness!
I would never say that, normally.

I didn't meet Gabe or Nate(Novarro).
I didn't get a picture with Vicky-T.
I still had a great time.
October Ninth was a great night.

What Happens In Vegas.

"Ends up on TMZ!" -Katy Perry

So I was watching the movie "What Happens In Vegas" (with Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz) on Friday, October 3rd.
Here's the thing, there's this one scene where someone calls the character Cameron Diaz plays and the phone flashes "Saturday, October 4th".

I just thought it was super creepy.

:]

singer girl friday

Today, I was hanging around with all the kids who were waiting for the bus to pick them up [I walk home].  I was talking to one of my friends.  This friend and I both love William Beckett's voice.  So I whipped out my phone and asked "Wanna hear William Beckett's voice?" [I bought 'His Girl Friday' as a ringtone, but use it as my alarm clock].  She answers with "Yeah!  sure."  For background reference, my friend has been trying to make me sign up for the music program for a while.  As I was playing the little clip I started singing along.  My friend says, "You know, I like your voice better than his."

This is either a ploy to make me drop one of my classes and sign up for music (which isn't going to happen) or that was a HELL of a compliment.  William Beckett has an amazing voice, and my friend is practically a professional singer (well, not really.  but close enough.)

We shall see, I suppose.  :]

I'm Reed Fish

I just got finished watching the movie "I'm Reed Fish."  The videography was just beautiful.  Normally, I'm not a movie person, but this was just gorgeous.  Check it out some time.

street teamer. *does dance*

I won't miss this concert for anything. I cannot wait!
I think everyone should go.
This will be my first time seeing all the bands except one.
Who I saw on May 9th.
Who are the reason I'm going to this concert.

Oh, and did I mention that I cannot wait?

subliminal messages

Look familiar?
If not, look around.

I found this shirt in Forever 21, yesterday, and had to have it.
I'll be advertising my blog without anyone (unless I've told you) knowing.

How pathetic am I?

thinking on crowds and motion city soundtrack

I was just thinking back to the Honda Civic Tour. It was my first concert without a parent and the crowd was drifting back and forth.  Violently.  It was pretty hectic. We (me and my friend) figured that when you guys walked on stage it would be worst of all. We didn't know how to handle the thrashing of large crowds. We were bracing for impact. I remember you saw the audience and told us to 'fucking stop.' the crowd stopped for a little and then started again. You were in the middle of a song and stopped it anyway. Just to tell us to stop. The crowd finally did stop. Thank you.

I know how to handle these crowds a little better now.
(Thanks to the Honda Civic Tour)
I know how to go with the flow.
(Thanks to the Final Riot Tour)
I know how to push people away.
(Thanks to the Devo concert)

All at the same venue, too.

Thank you for helping us out anyway. It made the concert much more bearable.

Backstage, Bitches!

I WISH!
Maybe these shoes will have some kind of magical powers that get me backstage.

HAHAHAHA.

That would be a fail of a thought.

These are just pictures of the left shoe:

"CREW PASS"

P.S. And yes, I do wear plaid.  X]

"she must have been a bad nut"

I tried out for the role of Veruca Salt in the children's play at school, yesterday. At first I really wanted the part, now I'm glad I didn't get it.  It would have interfered with a concert that I WILL NOT, [lemme repeat that] WILL NOT miss.

I will never miss them live as long as I can help it.
[Favorite band?  Oh yeah.]

So, lately I've been occupying myself with a little something called post secret.
Ever hear of it?  Yeah, probably.

Some are really encouraging, some are just down right depressing.
They interesting nevertheless.

Here are a bunch of my favorites:

i can feel it coming on

here comes the depression.
brace yourself for impact.

uggh.  i feel so terrible.
in one fell swoop someone can make me feel like crap.
unwanted.
i'm not even sure they did it on purpose.

hold on tight
it's gonna be a bumpy ride
for how long i don't know

i'm making this up
as i go along
for how long i don't know

and keep me from slipping
keep me from falling

i can feel the dampness of the bottom of the well

keep me from slipping
keep me from falling

before this concussion begins to swell

dear you,

i remember i had a pair of converse that on one side said 'love' and one side said 'hate.' i remember that after being told you had the same pair i hated them. because i hated you. i thought you were a douche. and i guess it's people like me that are the reason you have come to think of yourself as one. i had no basis upon hating you. it seems like a distant time even.

i no longer believe that you are a douche. i am sorry that i ever did. i just hope maybe you'll forgive yourself one day and realize that there are so many people that believe in you, and all the great things that you can do.

i don't think you are a douche. i probably have no basis for this assumption, either. but i'd like to think i'm right, this time.

love,
me.

Tales of Marsupials!

If ever you get the chance,
U.K., U.S., or anywhere else,
go check out The Wombats.

First off, they're amazing.
They put on an amazing show.
Tord thrashed all over the place.
He even jumped on the amp thing in front of me and it started sliding out.

It was pretty funny because everyone worked to push it back in, right away.
He didn't fall, thank goodness.

They, of course, started with Tales of Girls, Boys, and Marsupials.
I sang along, and I actually think I can clap to it with singing along now.
Which is new for me X]
They played Kill the Director, first.
Which is ironic because that was the first song I heard by them over a year ago.
Speaking of which, I think Tord was pretty impressed that I've been listening for so long.
They didn't play Postman Pat,
because apparently they stopped doing that.
But I got a few smiles for screaming that "Postman Pat" to them when they were performing.
And I didn't get to steal Cherub,
because apparently they forgot him on a plane.

They were all so nice.
I got them to sign my NME magazine, with them on the cover.
(What's this you say?  That's a British magazine?  But I live in the U.S.?  How did I manage that?)
I have my ways.
Dan seemed pretty impressed that I had it.
YAY!

At the beginning of the show Dan walked onstage to fix his drums up.  I was so excited.  As he was walking off stage I shouted "Dan!"  He turned around.  "High five?" I asked.  He was about to, too, but had to go walk off stage.  He mouthed something about later.

After the show had ended I talked to Tord who was just hanging around in the general area.  He was all smiles.  :D  We were waiting outside for my dad to come.  I figured he'd call when he was there.  Murph walked out and my friend, my brother, and I talked to him.  I told him I liked his shoes (those clear converse, that are oh so rad) and asked him what kind of socks he was wearing.  He looked down and told me they were Hello Kitty ones.  I told him that Hello Kitty was taking over the world and he said that he was only wearing the socks because the shoes where see-through.  X]

I was afraid I wouldn't get my high-five.  I truly was.  I sat there when my friend turns her head and says "There's Dan!"  I looked to where she was looking and sure enough that was him.  I ran over there and when I got there I held up my hand, AND GOT MY HIGH FIVE!  YEAH!
While Dan was signing and taking pictures and all the fun stuff, Murph was getting a little impatient.  I could tell.  Despite being in the passenger seat, he was honking the horn.  Dan told us that they could wait for a minute.

After a little bit of talking we hear "GET IN THE MOTHER FUCKING BUS!"

Oh, that Murph!  X]

As Dan was walking towards the van, he tells us, "Yeah.  That's what we sing.  'Get in the mother fucking bus.'"  He hops in the van and they just take off.
Was it a good night?
HELL FUCKING YES!

OH, the inconsistencies.

Yeah, so because I am a bad child, I often get my computer taken away.

I get it back eventually.
Like now,
I have my computer back.

But I am blogging now.
Again.
Even though no one reads this.
X]

"I'm a mess and you're worse
Just give me time to give you a waste of time
One of those nights
When you leave me for no reason
I'll give you a reason."
-One of THOSE Nights by The Cab

They're amazing.  Go out and buy Whisper War.  Or see them on the Why So Serious Tour or, more importantly, THE ROCKBAND LIVE TOUR!  That was just you're friendly spazz out of the day.

School started last week.
I am not letting myself fall this year.
I will prevail.
Take that AP.  You will not get the best of me this year.
I have a can do attitude right now.
Don't push me.

Especially when I wake up to "His Girl Friday," everyday.
It's a good wake-up call.  A real good one.

I hope everyone is having a good week.
I will be seeing one of my favorite bands on Thursday,
so I know my week is gonna rock.

Especially because of how few people in this country know not of who this band is.
I discovered them on myspace.
They only recently just started getting some airtime on MTV here.
But I am glad they are.
I hope they take this country by storm, eventually.
But I want to be able to say I was one of the first to be there.

P.S. Was it me or did the VMA's suck something rather major, this year?

Faith, Trust, & Pixie Dust

What if that was all it would take?
What if wishing on a star made your dreams come true?

I saw a shooting star a few nights ago.
And I wished on it.

I'm wishing my wish comes true.
It's fun to believe.
It gives you hope.
I'm hoping my wish comes true.

I can't doubt myself.
I refuse to doubt myself.
Because when I doubt myself bad things will follow.

My wish has to come true.
It has to.

I'd type it, right here, but then it won't come true.
So I can't.

Okay, so I attempt to write.
And I was feeling inspired.
I kind of hope that someday someone will find this, read it, and like it.
But that's not my wish.
Just kind of sitting there in the back of my mind.

My lips are sealed with sealing wax.
Tied together with a ribbon.
What a pretty package.
What's prettier is what's hidden.

The mind of the insane inside.
They push to talk but are going no where.
But all the colors fall align.
The skulls that hold their minds.

The music falls around the people.
but like water it ruins the perfect hair.
but to those that don't care and frolic with ease.
it's nothing more than hypnotic, a tease.

and if this song means nothing.
but if this song means something.
make a mountain out of a molehill.
and start sanding against the grain.

Rest In Peace

This is much too long over due.
Thanks for being such a good friend to everyone.
I wish there could be more people like you in the world.

I know everyone misses you.
I know I do.

It really is a shame, the things that happen.

Goodnight, James.

what happened?

what happened?

On Vacation

Okay. Just because I'm on vacation doesn't mean I'm not going to blog.
Just a little differently.
I'm sitting on a balcony looking out to the Gulf of Mexico.
It's quite nice.

Especially, after two days in a car to get here.
That was a killer.

Oh, I might as well show you what the view looks like, too.

It is nice, isn't it.
You must be extremely jealous.
Now if there was something we could do about this heat.

Darren Robinson greets us from backstage

Right after getting his haircut.
Thanks for being so awesome!

Stop Teasing Me, Won't You Take It Easy

So tonight was AMAZING.

PHANTOM PLANET IS (and if you manage to find/read this blog, YOU ARE) AMAZING!
Me and my friends skipped out on Jack's Mannequin AND Paramore to hang out with them.
And let me tell you, they were all so nice.

I saw/met Darren first.
And there is a difference between seeing and meeting.
First off, he walked down the block.
I noticed him.  I spazzed.  I didn't say anything.
Later, we saw him backstage.
We were by the fence because my friend was feeling light headed.
Alex even walked by, but he seemed a little creeped out when I noticed him and called his name.
But please, I was there to see PHANTOM PLANET!
We started singing bumper to bumper.
He had someone come by and video tape us.
Then, he came by and heard us sing it.
"It's awesome that you guys know that.  I didn't think anyone knew that."

The concert was amazing.
It seemed like we were the only one's who knew who they were.
I'm sure they expected to walk onstage and not here our cheers.
Think again.
Jeff walked onstage to set up the drums.
I didn't notice that it was him at first because HE GOT A HAIRCUT!
But it was an awesome one.
So my friend and I shouted "We love your haircut!"
He heard us and smiled.
Sam walked on stage, too.  Of course we cheered for him.
Alex walked on and work on the mic.  Cheered for him, too.

We jumped and thrashed and sang along to every song we knew,
and even some we didn't.
(but only a few)
Phantom Planet put on a great performance.
No lie.
I liked it better than a couple of months ago,
when I saw them with another band.
The crowd, was worse.
We knew who they were.
No one else did.
We knew the words.
No one else did.

They all hung around during the end of the Jack's Mannequin set and the beginning of the Paramore set.
We stayed, chilled, and talked with them.
We talked about their youtube videos, bubbles, and being short.
(well, that last one was mostly Darren and I)
We talked to Jeff about his haircut.
And then he let us touch his hair.
Sam made me feel short,
and then shrunk down to my shortness to give me a hug.
(I got hugs from everyone, though)
It was amazing.
Darren gave me his guitar pick.
I think I'm gonna put it on a necklace.

Darren is the shit.
Honestly, they all are.

I WANT [MORE EMPIRES] BLOOD

I just got back from the Empires concert.
It was absolutely incredible.
I couldn't stop jumping and tapping to the beat the whole time.
Everything they played off the album sounded exactly like it sounded on the album.

I took some video from what they said was a new song.
It's a lot shaky, because despite the fact I didn't know what it was, it was really good.

I met Sean Van Vleet, Tom Conrad, and Max Steger.
I told Tom that I adore his photography.

They were all amazing.

I hope to catch them next time they go on tour!

I forced my friend to take this photo for me. I saw the drums and spazzed out.

Video will be uploaded at a later time.
I'm feeling kind of lazy, right now.

Concerts(plural noun)

Getting ready for Empires tonight.
It's gonna be bloody mazing.
They're gonna tear the house down.

Getting ready for Paramore/Phantom Planet tomorrow.
I hope Phantom Planet do an acoustic set.
Really badly.

Alex Greenwald is the shit.

gershwin.

I saw this commercial last night during the olympics.
I adore it.
I've always loved Rhapsody in Blue since Fantasia 2000.

which segway's me into this
Fantasia 2000 really opened my eyes to a lot of great music.
Although, enjoying art the way that i do
i quite liked the animation :]

the olympics

watching the parade of nations
is really quite eye opening
because you watch all these people
all these nations
and you realize how we're all related
how similar we all are.

every time a country walks in
someone announces their name
not just on television
but in the family room as well

jamaica walks in and i can hear my next door neighbor screaming.
israelwalks in and my grandmother is screaming.
uruguay walks in and i'm thinking of gabe saporta, silly, i know.
i can almost smell how good the indian people probably smell.
i know my cousins are screaming their heads off when the canadians walk by.
i used to go to school with someone from argentina, now i babysit his sister on saturdays.
my dad, when he claps, it's really loud, and that's what we hear when latvia walks in.
my brother is discussing how one of the divers from great britain is his age.
i'm watching france walk in and smirking, because i'd probably understand most of what their saying.
my brother shouts "america!" as the u.s.a. walks on.
my brother is friends with an irish punk band, so when ireland walks in he yells "defiance."
across the street from me, i have neighbors from haiti.
i'm thinking of one of my friends when the philippines walk on, he's from there and he goes there almost every summer.
and my neighbors are probably joyed when they see vietnam walk on.
i have to point out portugal to my grandma but when she notices it's them i can hear the smile on her face.
new zealand walks on and now i'm thinking of stereogram, a band barely anyone remembers, but are/were really good.
those from italy look as if they are all part of one big extended family
my brother mentions a friend of his who moved back to serbia when the serbian team walks on.
a man from germany has the five rings shaved off from his hair, it's that kind of excitement that is fun to watch.
austrailia looks like they are having a blast. i think of michael guy chislett. always with the bands, but when it applies, i like to make mention.

i watch spain walk through
raphael nadal is a tennis player
and he is gorgeous
my grandmother is saying that he is cute too

my family and i were arguing over whether or not the green shirts of the lithuanians were a good choice
i thought they were pretty

antigua is pronounced an-tee-gah
and not an-tee-gWa

a guy from finland looked like he did the shut up and let me go sign
it made me chuckle just a little
at where my mind is, and all

both canada and the u.s.a.
upon noticing cameras
excitedly scream, shout, and cheer towards them

my grandmother keeps asking
"where are the netharlands? where are the netherlands?"

austria are filled with glee and energy as they walk in
starting a group cheer

one guy walked in holding his nations flag in one hand.
perfectly straight.
i think he was from denmark.
and the look on his face was unlike any else.
what a look of pride.

finally, out walks china
with a face that even i recognize holding the flag
a mr. yao ming
next to him is a little kid
lin hao
who saved some of his classmates
because he felt it was his job as the hall monitor
yao keeps putting the edge of the flag in the boys face
just for giggles.

it's beautiful watching all the people walk through
holding their cameras and camcorders
and laughing with their friends

all the smiles are beautiful.
especially on the flag holders.
their smiles are brightest.
i wonder how they must feel at that moment in time.

the guy looks like he is running across the top of the stadium.
AND THE OLYMPIC TORCH IS LIT.
and the city goes up in fireworks.
how amazing.
how beautiful.

directorial debuts?

haha.
i'm such a dreamer.

idea number one:
a subway,
kind of turns cartoonish,
kind of trippy
various band members seem to be following.
do you know what i'm seeing?

idea number two:
inside a television set,
product placement
almost every second of the video
but possibly extremely cheap.

i have yet to come up with a good song that would go well with this video...

g'night to all.
g'night july 2008.

In continuation of my last two posts.

One band almost did rescue me.
It was pretty fucking incredible.
Alex Gaskarth you are too kind.
Have my babies?

Thursday, July 24, 2008

Certainly not my parents.

I'm not going to fucking Warped Tour.

Any bands feel like rescuing me?  I'll still pay full ticket price!

Haha.   I wish.  :[

Who's afraid of the big, bad Warped?

Things that need to get done before Warped Tour:

-Get cameras/cell phones/what ever ready.
-Finish TAI... sketches.
-Decorate drumsticks for The Butcher.
-Decorate bag or t-shirt for self.
-Buy things for bands.

What to buy for bands:

-Buy stuff off of Gabe's shopping list, including chummus.
-Buy Vitamin Water for All Time Low.
-Buy flowers and chocolates for Jack Barakat.

Last Night.

Last night, me and my friend went to see Teddy Geiger in concert.  I really enjoyed it.  A lot of the time he was hidden behind his piano, but the music was always good.  He's a really talented musicians.

And a lot of really talented musicians have tortured souls.

So my friend and I decided to wait to see if we could meet him.  There was this huge line, so we decided to wait on the side until the line was gone.  As we're watching him, we notice things.  Like the way he was always tapping his fingers impatiently.  The way he was tapping his feet.  The way every time he would "smile" it wasn't.  He looked miserable.  He looked like he didn't want to be there.

I managed giving some guy to give him one of my hand made guitar picks.  If he ever decides to do anything with it, that's fine.  If he doesn't that's also fine.

He's got such a pretty face and the sadness really takes away from it.

I seriously wish there was something I could do to make him feel better.  But the best thing we figured we could do, was just give him some space.

It really upset me to see him like that.

Pictures from the actual music part will be up on my Flickr soon.  But not from the meet-and-greet-ish thing.  I was too heartbroken to take any pictures at that time.

Can you hear humping on your stereo?

Such a good song.
And the video is muy fun.

All Worked Out

Comment Away, little chickadees!

All fixed!

Really loving GCH's sound right now.

New Format.

Attn Guys and Dolls:

I got a new format for my comments.
I like it better.
I'd like it even better if I could get it to work.
I'm tired now. I'll fix it in the morning. :]

Thanks to those bloggers that opened my eyes to this format.

I hope maybe they'll check this blog out, sometime, too. :D
(Probably not, though. We shall see...)

Hehe. A lovely picture, until next time. I am amused. And you? You should be. And if you're not. That is your problem not mine. Adios. :]

i only drum neked.

Definitely go see this movie.  It is hysterical.  Plus, it's got Teddy Geiger.

I've seen it twice.  They have a whole bunch of free viewings across the country, so keep your eyes peeled.  :D

I actually met Rainn Wilson at this viewing and got to ask him a question.  He complemented my sweater.  I was shaking so much because I was nervous.  I don't think it was him that I was nervous of, either.  I think it was the fact that everyone was looking at me as I asked the question.  By the way(in case it wasn't already obvious), this guy is hilarious.

Unavailable Light

So, I recently got the best present ever. A macbook.

And now that I have it, I have garage band.
I've been practicing guitar everyday for the past couple of months and figured I'd try recording something.

Day 1:
too quiet
voice sounds like crap
brother is talking non stop in the other room
this is just to see how the program works

Day 2:
if i plug my amp in, you can hear it
can't keep a consistent volume
stop calling me mom!
ooh, my voice isn't as bad as i thought it was
what?! i didn't get a chance to fully record ANYTHING.

Day 3:
stupid plug makes too much noise
amp is much better
consistent volume one this recording. nice
aw man, you can hear mom in the background
oh well, it's faint
record voice, it's early
oh my goodness, you're going to bed? i wanna freaking record!

i skipped some days.
they weren't as important.

moral of the story is:
now i know what kids playing in garages have to deal with.
i feel your pain.

EEP!

I AM THE VERY HAPPIEST I'VE BEEN IN AGES!
I AM SHAKING LIKE A SON OF A BITCH DUE TO EXHAUSTION, I THINK, BUT I AM THRILLED TO LITTLE ITTY BITTY TINY PIECES!

I think I had a conversation with someone I look up to highly but never thought I'd ever had the chance to talk to.
It's all complicated and weird, and I'm not going to go into details but I am so happy right now. And, that's what matters. Now if only I could cheer up my friend some how. You know who you are. I will figure out a way to make you happy. The gift that keeps on giving.

A. "T.B." M.

i had a dream
that i was touring with a band.
what band? i do not know.
but i was touring.

and along with the band i was touring with
was another band
that are fairly well known.

and i was chilling,
while this band was sound checking
just kind of watching what was going on
what went where
who did what

and sitting at the drums was the drummer
for this well known band
so he called me over

he was bored
he kind of wanted someone to talk to
i was there
and wasn't busy
so he talked to me

we talked about things
i can't remember what they were
and then
we talked about our aspirations
for the future

i told him that i'm working on playing guitar
and piano
but if i had access to it
i'd be workig on playing
bass and drums
as well

he paused
"what?" i asked
he looked at the drum kit
he was seated in front of
"i play drums,you know."
"i know, what's your point?"
"i could teach you."

i was shocked and thrilled
but i didn't show it at first

"get up!" i commanded him
"why?" he asked, standing up
"so i can give you this"
i jumped at him with a hug
the biggest hug i can ever remember giving
despite the fact that it wasn't real

he smiled
and my dream faded away.

-----

weird, huh?
oh, by the way, this guy saved my birthday
i was dreading it up until i found out he shared the same one
it's silly of me, i know
but he made it okay to have my birthday :D

OH MY GOSH!

I just looked at the air guitar picture.
As much as it's a fun picture, it's kind of gross.
But funny, but still kind of gross.

I'm not the kid on the right, if there was any question in anyone's mind.
I'm the kid on the left. Minding his/her business and being totally oblivious to whatever is happening around him/her.
I mean, if I wasn't totally oblivious, you think maybe I would have seen that sooner.

Peace.

Happy Fourth of July and Happy Birthday, The Butcher!

*muffled laughter*

I searched "guitar" on photobucket and this came up, a few pages in.

I always thought so. That is why I, to this day, continue to play air guitar. The difference with me is a lot of the stuff I air guitar to is stuff that most people would not deem worthy of the sport.

Are we not men?(No, actually I'm a girl)

I saw Devo on Saturday along with a bunch of Paul Green's School of Rock kids who were playing as well. I wish I could play half as well as most of the people that played. I'm working on it. I've actually been able to tab out the introduction for "When the Day Met the Night" and "Honey." Now, if only I could learn how to play all of the introduction to "Honey" without screwing up. Just because I have it written down does not mean I have it memorized. Oh wells.

Back to the concert, I learned a bunch of things there:
a) People mosh to Devo. Who would have guessed? (DON'T. ANSWER. THAT.) I ended up in a few of the mosh pits. I've never moshed before (I'm such a wimp) so I didn't know what the hell was going on or what the hell I should be doing. I just tried to avoid them (back to the "wimp" theory...)
b) Devo fans are scary. Really scary. I have my obsessions(and trust me, they are OBSESSIONS), but if you're obsessed with Devo, the way some of the fans at the concert are/were, it's frightening.
c) If you wait in the parking lot you might meet the band. Okay, so I didn't meet the entire band, but I met *please hold, while I look up his name (shows how much I know about them...Grr, now I feel bad that I didn't know it)* Mark Mothersbaugh.
d) Mark Mothersbaugh wrote The Rugrats' theme song. How cool is that? (My dad told me that when he picked me up from the concert.)

Speaking of concerts, I went to two concerts this past month. That's a new record for me. I normally go to one or two concerts per year. It is a nice change of pace.

OMFGBRBLOL

I haven't blogged in almost a week.
I haven't had access to a computer in that time.
And I've actually been out doing things.

I'm probably going to a concert this weekend.
hahaha. weekend. Vampire Weekend....

oh, and by the way:
The Wombats invasion into to the U.S. is finally underway.
I can watch their video [Let's Dance to Joy Division] on On Demand. which is huge.

"Bass Whiz, Sisky Biz, Tellin' it Like it is"

I've pretty much become addicted to TAI TV.
It's hilarious.
Seriously.
Go check it out.
Now.

What are you doing still reading this.
You should be watching TAI TV.
Just kidding.

There are some amazing catch phrases and hilarious characters that I can't stop myself from saying and my "condition" is only going to worsen with the nearing of the Warped Tour.
"Delicious!"
"Thanks, Pause Button!"
"Guy Ripley's True Things"
"Bass Whiz, Sisky Biz, Tellin' it Like it is"
"Dedicated to my good friend, Adam Siska!"

Summer of Music

I'll probably be going to three concerts.
If not more.

And there is a new show on MTV this summer.
It will showcase music videos.
Actual music videos on MTV.
wow.

GAH! I SEE TOM'S GUITAR!

iRock

Eeeep.
I just finished printing all my photos from the concert my brother was in. And, no, they aren't all of him. He was only on seven of the songs. Actually, I really did try to get pics of everyone. I also think I did a pretty good job. I'll upload at a later time/date, possibly. I still have yet to upload my photo of 'coconut juice.'

but that's a different story.

MAKINGAPRIL :]
are amazing.
so are Empires.
and because I am a mooch
when people release their albums for free
it really makes my day.

Especially, when it's good music.
That's not to say I wouldn't buy the album if I got the chance, but for these bands I really don't have the chance. Fairly unknown. Indie, if you will. (well, not so much Making April, anymore).

"you outta BURN that sucka down!"

ahh.
weezer.
heard this song a while ago on the radio and almost jumped out of my seat
but i was i the car and that probably wouldn't have been the best ideas.
i actually have a guitar signed by their guitarist, brian bell.
that sounds really redundant for some reason, or at least to me it does. it might not to you.

and then finally i saw the video for the first time today. i have such a respect for them now. all the youtube stars. the numa numa guy (gary, something), the chocolate rain guy, kevin federline, the peanut butter jelly time, chris crocker. haha. i love it weezer. i love it.

i am a wombat (in spirit)

The glorious Wombats are playing in New York, tonight. Seeing as this is the closest of their stops in the U.S. to where I live and considering the date, I'm not there. I hope they get more popular in the U.S. because I really would like to see them perform live. They're such a wild bunch.

Now we know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall...
Yes.
Three.
Murph, Tord, and Dan.
[in reference to them playing there recently. i think it was a sold out show, as are most of their U.K. shows.]

p.s.
for those who can't figure that out on their own, i don't think they are holes. but when i think about them playing there, i just can't get that thought out of my mind. forgive me?

I HATE SONNETS

I really LOVED Shakespeare, last year. Romeo and Juliet was really beautiful. And then it gave me a chance to see "Romeo + Juliet" in class. (Leo D! <3)
But this year,
uggh.

IT took me a whole week to write this sonnet!
A WHOLE WEEK!

and to top it off, it needs to be about love, jealousy, or passion.
at the moment, i have none of these. you can't just fake that!

so the gist is, my "sonnet" (if you can call it that) sucks and i need help.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
[don't be too harsh]

A million worldly things could buy not you.
A hope of you still races through my mind.
With each awaking day my love renews,
And love from me is all you’ll ever find.
The sun that falls on each and every day,
Will it notice my admiring gaze.
Across the country, you are on your way,
But leaving you would leave me in a daze.
Will loneliness caress me when you’re gone!
And join the willows as they stand and weep
I’ll wait for you until eternal dawn,
Our paths will cross, oh, you just wait and see.
A love from afar is a fantasy.
A love together is a fallacy.

a name with an unneeded vowel in the beginning doesn't mean anything

my regular computer is dead
D-E-A-D
dead.

i'm really pissed off right now, but wouldn't you be too?
all i wanted were some guitar tabs.
i find a fried computer.

and now i'm ranting for no one and everyone to read.

no one because no one really reads this anyway.
everyone because everyone who wants to read this, can.

emachines can choke on a pickle.

silly child from the suburbs

i'm going to start teaching myself blink-182 songs and see if they help me.
it helped my favorite guitarist, so, you know, if it works try it for yourself.
i don't know.
if i'm ever a famous guitarist, it'll be because of my favorite guitarist because of blink-182.
and everyone in the universe will be reading this blog.
silly thoughts, silly thoughts.

hmm,
i wonder if my letter ended up in la poubelle or if it actually made it into a [very colorful] tourbus.
